Sgt Barry Sadler 3 Signed Items "Ballad Of The Green Berets" Record Album & 45 Single & "Men In The Green Berets" LP
Two albums and a 45 single signed by S Sgt Barry Sadler: His million-selling "Ballads Of The Green Berets" album and the single, and the album "Men In The Green Berets" All are signed on the front cover in blue ballpoint or biro pen. Barry Sadler had a tumultuous life. He was wounded in Vietnam. His "The Ballad Of The Green Berets" was #1 for five weeks in 1966, knocking Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Are Made For Walking" out of the top spot. In 1979, he was convicted of voluntary manslaughter in the shooting of a country music songwriter over a dispute involving a girlfriend. In the late 1980's, he was shot in the head while riding in a taxi in Guatamala City, and died about a year later. Some say he committed suicide, others say he was assassinated. Very rare autogaph. This is from the estate of Dan (Oberholtz) Diamond, a prominent Kansas City area DJ for decades. Besides his many years as a DJ and interviewing most of the top musical acts of his time, Dan was also known for his vast personal record collection.
