Playboy November 1963 Signed Magazine Bob Dylan Hugh Hefner Peggy Lee Julie London Playmate Of The Month Terre Tucker Autograph
This November 1963 issue of Playboy has been signed by a number of individuals, including Bob Dylan, Hugh Hefner, Peggy Lee, Julie London and centerfold Terre Tucker. Bob Dylan signed a full page ad for his first two albums. Hugh Hefner signed a subscription envelope inserted in the magazine, as well as the notation on the cover, "St Louis Playboy Club & Fox Theatre 1964". Playmate Of The Month Terre Tucker signed a photo of herself, though not the centerfold photo. Julie London signed an ad for the Columbia Record Club, and circled a picture of her album shown in the ad. Peggy Lee signed near an ad for her albums. Writers William Tenn and John Reese signed on articles they had written in this issue. There is also an unidentified signature on the Columbia Record Club ad. The magazine also contains an article by Shel Silverstein, and an excerpt from Lenny Bruce's "How To Talk Dirty And Influence People", his autobiography that appeared in six installments in the magazine. There is also an interview with Jimmy Hoffa. I obtained this and a few other vintage copies of Playboy that came from the St Louis Playboy Club mansion, that individuals would sign as they came through while visiting. This is from the estate of Dan (Oberholtz) Diamond, a prominent Kansas City area DJ for decades. Besides his many years as a DJ and interviewing most of the top musical acts of his time, Dan was also known for his vast personal record collection. Will gladly send scans of other signatures.
