This Al Hirt "Swingin' Dixie" album has been signed by an amazing array of comedy legends. On the back cover, it has been signed by (in ballpoint pen unless specified otherwise) Harpo Marx, Groucho Marx, Chico Marx, Zeppo Marx (in pencil, to left of Lucille Ball), Bud Abbott, Lou Costello, Moe Howard, Larry Fine (first name only), Lucille Ball, Bill Frawley, Desi Arnaz, Vivian Vance, Jackie Gleason (first name only), Art Carney, Audrey Meadows, Jack Benny (in pencil, at bottom), Milton Berle (in pencil, along lower right edge), Jimmy Durante,Mort Sahl (in pencil, in upper right corner), and Phil Silvers (in pencil, in lower left corner). On the front cover, it is signed by Red Buttons, Jeffrey Hunter, Frank Fontaine (in pencil, on Hirt's right shoulder) and Pinky Lee (in pencil, in the yellow area to the left). This record was released in 1958 on the Audio Fidelity label. The signatures were obtained by veteran autograph collector Cicely Steinberg, who grew up on Broadway from the early 1950's onward. The record shows some signs of wear, some splitting at corners, but in overall good shape. The vinyl record shows some scratching which may affect play. An unparalleled collection of comedy greats on one item.
