Beatles And Murray The K Signed Record Album John Lennon Paul McCartney George Harrison Ringo Starr Autograph
This Murray The K compilation album of oldies is signed on the back cover by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr and Murray The K in blue ballpoint or biro pen. This is from the collection of Carman Vargas, who lived on Delancey Street in lower Manhattan. Carman was an acquaintance of Murray The K, who obtained the Beatles' autographs for Carman, and also signed it himself. Murray, known at the time (as were a few others) as the fifth Beatle, was truly an insider at the time. He accompanied them to their Ed Sullivan Show performances, and traveled with them to their first concert appearances in Washington, DC. This was a promotional only album, not for regular sale. It features a photo of Murray the K with the Beatles, and reproductions of their autographs in white on the photo. The actual autographs on the album are very nice examples, though largely signed over the dark areas of the back cover. The album shows much wear, the top and bottom seams are completely split through. The vinyl record shows a number of scratches which I guess will affect play. Recipient's name written in black felt tip on reverse. Very rare item to have been signed by all four Beatles, and the "fifth" Beatle.
